SSG Fox FY2027: $111.9 Million for Veterans Not Yet Connected to VA Care
Updated: 3 days ago
If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Veterans and service members can press 1.
On September 29, 2026 the Department of Veterans Affairs announced $111.9 million in awards to 191 community organizations under the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program. Funds become available at the start of fiscal year 2027.

The money is aimed at a gap VA names in its own funding notice, which asks for non-clinical, community-driven approaches reaching veterans not yet connected to VA care. That premise sets where the work happens. Reaching veterans outside VA care means reaching them through organizations they already walk into.
106 of these awards are new. Those organizations hold a budget and a delivery obligation that begins with fiscal year 2027, and the first quarter of the performance period is when they settle what they will actually run.
VA publishes the roster as a PDF and a spreadsheet. The search below covers all 191 organizations, and the sections after it work through what a grantee settles first.
How much VA awarded, and to whom
Figure | Value |
Organizations awarded | 191 |
Total awarded | $111,900,000 |
New awards | 106 organizations, $64,958,826 |
Renewals | 85 organizations |
Median award | $672,174 |
Awards at the $750,000 ceiling | 77 organizations |
States and territories | 53 |
Awards run from $100,000 to the $750,000 ceiling, and 77 organizations received the full amount.

How to tell a new award from a renewal
Every award identifier ends in a two-digit cycle year. An identifier ending in 27 is a fiscal year 2027 award, and an earlier suffix continues an award from a previous cycle. The new and renewal labels on this page follow that pattern, checked against VA's FY2026 grantee list. VA does not publish it as a classification, so confirm any single organization against VA's own list before relying on it.
Twenty-five organizations serve more than one state. The search above lists each of them once with every state it serves, and the roster at the end of this page repeats them under each state. VA's PDF prints those organizations once per state, which is why its row count runs higher than its organization count. The figure to cite is 191 organizations, which is VA's own.
A grantee's first decision
An award is a budget and a delivery obligation arriving on the same day. Four things have to be settled before a program serves anyone, and the first quarter of the performance period is when a grantee settles them.
What has to be solved | The question behind it |
A place to deliver | Does the program fit a room the organization already has, or does it need space to find, rent, or renovate? |
Staff who can run it | Can people already on payroll deliver it after training, or does delivery require a license the organization does not hold? |
A schedule participants keep | Is the commitment short and defined enough that a veteran who avoids appointments will finish it? |
A record of who completed what | Can completion be counted without building a charting workflow that outlives the grant period? |
Programming that answers all four with resources already in the building outlasts the grant. Adding a hire, a buildout, or a clinical credential to any one of them pushes the start date out and ties the program to the funding cycle.
Requirements for a host organization
Delivery is the part Neurova Labs works on, so here is our own answer to those four questions, to compare against anything else you are looking at.
Neurova Academy is a general wellness and cognitive training program delivered in virtual reality by a certified facilitator. A cycle runs five consecutive days, with day one for orientation and four session days after it. Sessions run about thirty minutes, one a day, and a participant works standing in roughly a square meter of space. The program runs offline. Facilitator certification is delivered remotely, so an organization can run it with staff already on payroll.
Against the four questions above: the space is a quiet room the organization already has, delivery asks for no licensed clinician, the commitment is five sessions inside one week, and completion is a count a facilitator records on the last day.
Who we are. Neurova Labs is veteran founded and veteran led. More than 500 programs have been delivered to date, in community organizations, clinics, first responder agencies, and military units. Neurova Academy is the software, and organizations run it themselves with their own certified staff.
If your organization is on this list. We will walk through what implementation looks like in your building, including what it costs, what your staff would need, and what you would be able to count at the end. Eligibility and allowable costs are VA's to answer, and the section below says where to take those. Reach out to us at info@neurovalabs.com, or see how the program works at neurovalabs.com.
Where to take eligibility and allowable-cost questions
Questions about eligibility, allowable costs, reporting, and subcontracting are answered by VA, which administers the program. The SSG Fox program page carries the notice of funding opportunity and the program guide, and the program office can be reached at VASSGFoxGrants@va.gov. No vendor is a source on any of that, including this one.
Every FY2027 SSG Fox grantee, listed by state
The roster below lists all 191 organizations, grouped by the state each one serves, with organizations serving more than one state appearing under each. Each line carries the organization, its award amount, whether the award is new or a renewal, and its award identifier. Award amounts come from VA's published FY2027 awards list, which also names the counties each organization serves.
New money landed unevenly. Nine states drew four or more new FY2027 grantees each, and California alone drew 13.
State | Organizations | New FY2027 awards | Total awarded |
California (CA) | 18 | 13 | $11,143,450 |
Texas (TX) | 15 | 8 | $8,690,891 |
Florida (FL) | 12 | 7 | $8,504,785 |
Alabama (AL) | 9 | 6 | $5,621,767 |
Georgia (GA) | 7 | 4 | $4,681,630 |
Missouri (MO) | 6 | 4 | $3,980,545 |
Colorado (CO) | 8 | 4 | $3,702,806 |
Louisiana (LA) | 6 | 4 | $3,183,140 |
Kansas (KS) | 5 | 4 | $2,279,150 |
Organization names appear exactly as VA published them, including three evident misspellings, so that each entry matches VA's own list.
Looking for your own organization? It is below, under each state it serves. If you hold one of these awards and are working out what to put behind it, write to us at info@neurovalabs.com with your organization's name and the counties you serve. You will get a written answer.

If you hold one of these awards
Most of the 106 new grantees are deciding what to run in the next ninety days. If yours is one of them, we will walk through what Neurova Academy looks like in your building: what it costs, what your staff would need, how much space it takes, and what a facilitator would be able to count at the end of a cycle.
Write to us at info@neurovalabs.com with your organization's name and the counties you serve. You will get a written answer. If it is a poor fit, we will tell you. To see how the program runs first, the overview is at neurovalabs.com.
Neurova Labs is not an eligible applicant for this program and makes no suicide prevention or risk reduction claim. Questions about eligibility, allowable costs, and subcontracting belong with VA.
If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Veterans and service members can press 1.
Neurova Academy is a general wellness and cognitive training program.
